EDWARD SCHEFF Obituary

Edward "Ed" Scheff, age 54, of Fresno, CA passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2014. Ed was born on February 25, 1960, in Sacramento, CA. Ed graduated from Benicia High School and was awarded basketball scholarships during his college career where he graduated from California State University, Sacramento earning a Bachelor's Degree in business. He quickly turned his passion for cars into a career. Working as an Area Manager for the Chrysler Group for over 30 years, he spent the majority of his days journeying up and down California to check in with his dealers, or as he would call them, his friends. His truck was not just a mode of transportation, but instead represented the freedom to drop by for a face-to-face visit with those who mattered most to him. On his adventures, which included fourhour trips to have his hair cut by his daughter, Brianna, he could often be seen pulled off to the side of the road, napping, snacking or taking a moment to sit and enjoy his favorite book on tape or a spontaneous phone call. Ed is survived by his loving wife Teri Scheff; his two daughters from a previous marriage, Stephanie and husband Dustin Bramell, and Brianna and fiancé, Jeff Westphal; step-daughter, Gianna Papagni; his parents, Bill and Hazel Scheff; his two brothers, Larry and wife Lisa, and Bobby and wife Helen; his many nieces and nephews; and the hundreds of friends whom he loved dearly. Towering over 6'5", Ed was larger than life, not only in stature but also in personality. Whether he was at the gym, browsing through a garage sale with Teri or walking into a room of strangers, he was always making a new friend. We will Celebrate his life as a gentle giant with a boyhood spirit at a Memorial Service, on May 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church, 348 N. Canyons Parkway in Livermore, CA. A reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Church in his honor. The family requests that if you have a Hot Rod or a Classic Car, please drive it to the services in his memory.

Ed was very transparent over the years about what he valued and the theme was consistent: faith, family, freedom, and friends. I have many great memories of Ed calling on our dealership and appreciate the kind things he did for my family and our employees. His positive spirit brought happiness to all who knew him, and I am confident Heaven's a lot more joyful since Ed arrived.
