Sherman Reynolds Obituary

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Village Chapel for Sherman "Shankey" Reynolds, 84, Attalla, who died March 17, 2011. His nephew, the Rev. George Reynolds, will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reynolds was a longtime resident of Attalla. He retired from the city of Attalla and the water board. Mr. Reynolds was well-known and liked. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ruby Reynolds.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Wadley, Velinda Jane Corder and Judy (Chris) McMahan; grandchildren, Shane (Kristi) Chappell, Bryan (Stayce) McMahan, Brandy (Trent) Thompson, Eric (Jennifer) Wadley; great-grandchildren, Dalyn and Devin Chappell, Skylar and Braylee McMahan, Hunter and Paige Wadley; brother, Jerry "Sonny" (Linda) Reynolds; sisters, Beatrice (Jack) Mason and Edna Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Donald Oliver, Brent Mashburn, Jack Livingston, Magnum "Boopie" Waldrop, Billy Reynolds and Daniel Reynolds.
Special thanks to Dr. Debora Reiland and staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center and Alacare Hospice.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
