Wilma Bishop Obituary

Oct. 17, 1957 - Nov. 5, 2013
A much loved mother and friend, Wilma Jones Bishop, 56, of Madison, passed away at her home November 5, 2013. She bravely fought cancer until the very end. Wilma was a fun-loving woman who loved easily. She was loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed.
Wilma was survived by her husband, Tony Jenkins; parents, Willie and Geneva Banks; children, Anthony (Angie) Jones, Tammy (Matthew) Basaraba, Stacy (Jonathan) Rakestraw; uncle, Gerald Sanders. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff and Melina Osborn, Gabe Basaraba, Taylor Stanfield, Ella and Jaxson Rakestraw and Caden Jones; and lifelong friend, Hope Wilson.
We would like to thank Chrissie Scroggin, Hope Wilson and Candace Harwood. Words could never express what each of you mean to us. You are our family now, and we are forever indebted to all three of you.
In lieu of flowers, we would love for donations to be made to childhood cancer research in Wilma's honor.
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

I knew Wilma as a teenager and only recently reconnected with her on FB. She was already sick by then. I was inspired by her faith in God and her courage to face what was happening to her earthly body. I am so happy for her that she is now pain-free and in the arms of Jesus. I am praying for her family to find peace and comfort and know that through Jesus Christ they will see her again!
