Glenn Player Obituary
Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Boaz, Ala. with the Rev. Gary Williams officiating. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Nov. 2, 1947, to the late Woodrow and Vernell Player.
Glenn graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1966.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served from 1968 to 1969. Mr. Player retired from a 39-year career with Goodyear Tire Company in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Player.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie Diane Player; daughter, Tonya (David) Player Fowlkes; granddaughter, Cali; sister, Shirley (Pat) Thomas; nephews, Tony Thomas, Jon Player; and nieces, Jackie Goode and Erica Player.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

I know how you feel, I have been there twice but, somehow, God pulled me through it. He will do the same for you. Glenn was a wonderful man, and I loved him very much, and I KNOW that he was just waiting for God to come down and "scoop him up" and carry him to a home that we cannot even imagine. I pray for you in your sorrow, but I also know that God gives us GRACE to help us through our loss. I will not send flowers, they will die, but I will buy Gideon Bibles in his memory, and God's word NEVER dies. God bless you and the family. I love you.
