KANYINOLA OLUFEMI
Mr. Kanyinola Olufemi Addie, age 64, Manager of African Biobotanic Formula Products, passed away September 15, 2016 at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center.
Kanyinola (Femi) was a member of the Redeemed Church of God Grace and Mercy in Gainesville, Florida. He came to the United Stated in 1979. He worked for some time with and African Magazine Company in Queens, New York. Femi attended primary and secondary school in Nigeria and completed a BA in Television Radio Engineering from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York in 1988. From a young man in Nigeria, his passion and love of music of all kinds ignited a energy for African, jazz, and as well as other culture music. He formed a band in 2000 where he assumed the stage name of 'Kako'. His performances in the Gainesville and surrounding geographical areas raised awareness in the community for the energy and love for music from the continent of Africa.
He is survived by his wife; Deborah Branham Addie, Gainesville, FL, and daughter; Yewande O. Addie, Washington, DC, brother; Folie Ollukayode Addie, Lagos, Nigeria.
Funeral Services for Mr. Addie will be held 11:00am, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Greenhouse Church, 2925 N.W. 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32605, Pastor Mike Patz, Pastor Matt Elrich, Pastor Olufemi Bolarwinwa, Officiating; burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32601.
Mr. Addie will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00am until the hour of Service.
