GERALDINE JENKINS Obituary
Gainesville - Geraldine B. 'Jerry' Jenkins, of Gainesville, FL passed away on Monday January 5, 2015. Born April 15, 1923 in Clyde, Ohio to Philip and Mabel Byers, she was the youngest of five daughters; Marian, Katherine, Alice, and Ann. 'Jerry' moved to Gainesville in 1948 when she married Joe C. Jenkins, Jr., who passed away in 1990.
Her survivors include her three children, Elizabeth A. Jenkins (Charles Hudson), Joe Clint Jenkins, III (Joyce), and Laurie Wilson, as well as seven grandchildren, five great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Jerry also leaves behind a number of close friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 SW Second Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. She was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church and Chapter AF, PEO. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory may wish to donate to the First Presbyterian Church, 'Montreat Fund'.
Arrangements are under the care of Milam Funeral and Cremation Services, 311 South Main Street Gainesville, FL 32601. (352) 376-5361.

Aunt Jerry was so good to me and always asked about my daughters and their families. A memory from my childhood was my mother on the phone asking the operator to please dial "Franklin Two 8090." That number is etched into my brain. She was often there for me just like my own mother. I love her and miss her so much. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. Among the many wonderful things to be said about Jerry is that she was the world's best mother in-law. I loved her dearly and shall miss her greatly. May she rest in eternal peace.
