I am deeply saddened today as I just learned of Ed's passing. The sharpest mind I ever happened upon in law enforcement, Ed was the dean of the "Head Shed" during 1990's investigation of the student murders in Gainesville. Truly a pleasure to know and work with Ed. Also an excellent firearms instructor.

To Ed’s family: I am extremely sorry to hear of your loss, but please know that my prayers are with you during this time. I, like Karen Weaver, worked with Ed at FDLE; he was a good man, a true friend, and a kind soul to everyone he met. We will surely miss his laugh, humor, and smile. May God bless each of you!! Leisha

It's with great sadness that I learned of Ed's passing but with great pleasure I remember the friend and colleague Ed was. Always the gentleman, I will remember Ed more for the fine person he was than fine professional he worked to be.

It was a sad day when I heard the news about Ed. I was Ed's supervisor in Ft. Myers when he first came to FDLE. When I say supervisor, I say that lightly, because Ed needed little or no supervision from me. He was a true professional with a demeanor, personality and sense of humor that I truely missed when he moved on from Ft. Myers. Ed, you have done your duty and did it well. Now Rest in Peace my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of sorrow.

Ed, Godspeed to your final rest. May our Gods watch over you in your final journey and continue to watch over your family. You were a true professional in the Law Enforcement Community and it was an honor to know you as a Brother behind the Badge.

Ed was a true gentleman and well-loved by his FDLE family. I worked with Ed for many years in Gainesville and found his compassion remarkable. I saw Ed at the range a few months ago, and was so glad as it had been a while. He was a class act. He will be missed. I am proud to say he was my friend. My prayers go out to Millie and his family and to the rest of the FDLE family as well.
