Eleanor Kingman Obituary
Eleanor Hewitt Kingman, age 99, of Gainesville, Fl died Tuesday, May 17, 2011. She kept her smile and cheerfulness to the end. Eleanor was born in Brooklyn in 1911 and has changed with the decades that she has lived, including writing her 421 page autobiography at age 90 on a laptop that she borrowed.
Her husband of 60 years, Harold Francis Kingman, passed away in 1996 soon after they relocated to Gainesville from Port Charlotte, FL. Prior to that, they lived in Roslyn and Locust Valley, Long Island, NY.
She is survived by her son, Richard A. Kingman and his wife, Judy of New York City and her daughter, Laraine K. Teiss and her husband, David of Gainesville, FL.
Her grandchildren, Robyn, Audra, Brian, Philip, Justine, Chelsea, Alexander and Garrett were all special to her, as were her 8 great-grandchildren: Shelton, Rachel, Sky, Armando, Tea, Rebecca, Riley and Owen.
We, her family, wish to thank her caregivers from Oak Hammock, Emeritus, ET York Hospice Center, Elizabeth Ramirez and the Trinity UMC Parish Visitors for their endless attention and love they showed Eleanor over these last few years.
The Celebration of Eleanor's Life will be at the Chapel of Trinity UMC, 4000 NW 53rd Ave, Gainesville 32653 on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Parish Visitors or Haven Hospice of North Central Florida, 4200 NW 90th Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32606.
Arrangements are under the care of FOREST MEADOWS FUNERAL HOMES, 725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, FL. 32609.
