Andras Cziotka Obituary

CZIOTKA, ANDRAS



Andras "Andy" Cziotka died November 19th following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in 1938 in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary. During the 1956 revolution, he fled Hungary and immigrated to the USA. He played on the 1965 World Cup Soccer Team representing his new and beloved country. He met his wife, Julianna, while visiting family in Hungary. He moved to Gainesville, FL in 1994 from Ft. Lauderdale. He was an avid soccer fan, volunteering his time assisting the soccer coach at Oak Hall, UF girls soccer team, and his grandson Alexandor's soccer teams in Live Oak, FL. He loved his family, most especially his grandchildren.



He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Julianna, his 3 children, Judy Talton and her husband Jim of Gainesville, Jennifer McMillan and her husband Matt of Live Oak, and Andy Cziotka, Jr. and his wife Elena of Leesburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandor McMillan - 9, Elaina McMillan - 5, Evan McMillan - 2, and Franchesca Cziotka - 7 months. He is also survived by two brothers Joszef Cziotka and Laszlo Cziotka of Hungary and many nieces and nephews.



In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Haven Hospice of Gainesville in Andy's name. Services will be at Williams-Thomas Westarea Funeral Home, 823 NW 143rd Street, Gainesville/Newberry, FL on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM with a memorial service at 11:00AM. Arrangements are under the care of Williams-Thomas Westarea.
