Rosemary and I have had the honor of knowing John and Hallie for over thirty years. They were always a joy to be with, whether it was talking business or life in general. They were so proud of their children and their grandchildren. John and Hallie were above reproach in every aspect of the lives. I have thoroughly enjoyed my lunches with John these past several months. He was always cheerful, even with his circumstances. John was ready to be with Hallie but we will miss him dearly. Bobby and I grew up with bothJohn and Hallie, with John being in our wedding 53 years ago. We were even closer when we lived in Sanford for 10 years in the 60"s before moving to Tallahassee. We loved being with them and always enjoyed talking to John after Hallie's death. Please accept our prayers and condolences for all the family. Due to Bobby's poor health we will be unable to attend the services in Live Oak. Much love, Emma and Bobby Jernigan

I first met John in 2003 when I became Dean of the College of Social Sciences at FSU. My visits with him were always a pleasure; hie personal warmth and support were very much appreciated over the years. My prayers are with you in this time of loss.
I want you to know that Hallie and John's gifts to the College, most notably the Quinn Eminent Scholar Chair, have led to the creation of program in experimental economics that does path breaking research and has created innovative courses for undergraduates and graduates alike. I am pleased to report that it is among the top three programs in the country.
John is held in high regard at FSU and his legacy in the department of economics will endure.
My thoughts and prayers are with you,
David Rasmussen, Dean

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. John was very special to our family throughout the years...from SHS with AP (Phil). Our boys heard many, many wonderful stories about their Dad and "Mr. Quinn" and loved to hear them over and over from anyone who knew them!! It was an honor to call John "friend".
