KENNETH BUCHANAN Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Allen Buchanan of Old Town passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 as a result of an auto accident. He was 39.
Kenny was born and raised in Old Town, attending Dixie County Schools. He was an aquatic plant specialist operating the business, Aquatic Plants in Old Town. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports and was a member of Ramsey Bend Hunting Club. He was also a member of Suwannee River Baptist Church and the Dixie County Little League, where he loved working with children. He was a Florida State Seminole fan.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Buchanan of Old Town; sons, James Horsley, Kenneth Buchanan, Jr. and Joshua Council, all of Old Town; daughter, Sarah Buchanan of Old Town; parents, Alvin and Gail Buchanan of Old Town; maternal grandmother, Bernice Hitt of Largo, FL; paternal grandmother, Gertie Buchanan of Mayo, FL; mother-in-law, Linda Horsley of Old Town; brothers, Franklin Buchanan of Old Town and Barry Buchanan of Cross City and sister, Sherrie Buchanan of Chiefland, FL.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home between the hours of 6 and 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jarrett Thomas and Rev. Terry Cranford officiating. Interment will follow at Old Town Cemetery.
Donations to benefit the family can be made at the Capital City Bank in Cross City, FL.
Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida, 352-498-5400.
