MARY MORELAND Obituary
Mary Ellen Hardee Moreland, 81, wife of Alvin F. Moreland, Prof. Emeritus, UF Coll. of Vet. Med., died May 8, 2011. She held a BS in Nursing from the Medical Univ. of SC, and retired from her nursing career at Shands Hospital. She was a dedicated hospital volunteer and provided over 14000 volunteer hours between Shands Auxilliary and Aiken Regional Medical Center Auxilliary of Aiken SC. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gainesville, and the UF Medical and Veterinary Medical Guilds.
Surviving are her husband of Gainesville; daughter Ellen (Ted) Granger of Tallahassee; sons Frank Moreland of Aiken SC, & Clyde Moreland of St Petersburg FL; sisters Reah Carmichael & Donna Pratt; brother Fred Hardee; and grandchildren Colin & Nathan Granger, and Cait, Max, and Drew Moreland.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 PM June 17, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Gainesville, FL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Endowment Fund, 419 NE First St., Gainesville, FL 32601.
