Your family are in my thoughts and prayers. We will all miss Dr. J; he touched so many lives. My fondest memory is seeing him walk down the corridor with his hat on carrying home grown tomatoes in baskets. He was never with out his hat. Dr. J will truly be missed by many.

Dear Beth,
I was sorry to hear that your father has passed away. Your father was an exceptional man, but to you he was your Dad. I am glad that your Dad lived a good long life and I'm glad that you and your family had time to enjoy 'the essential Dr. J'. I hope that your Dad's extraordinary spirit will sustain you during this difficult time.

I am a diagnostic radiologist who had the privilege of practicing with Josh at Emory University Hospital, and my condolences are extended to his family. He was a talented surgeon who once operated on my mother, and I personally experienced how important his patients were to him. His was a quiet intellect that demonstrated expertise in surgery as well as academics. Having held the office of President of the American College of Surgeons speaks to the prestigious position which he held in the minds of his surgical colleagues.

I trained under Dr. J finishing in 1986. As everyone has noted, he has left a lasting legacy. I, as many, am thankful to have known him. He embodied a unique mixture of tremendous drive and accomplishment...with an umbrella of humility. Christian Paletta MD FACS
