Shirley, in just a few days it will be a year that you will have left us. I was holding your hand when you left us to be with God. You don't know how much I miss you. I love you so very very much. I wish you were here with us, but I know that you are in heaven and not hurting anymore. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I love you, your sister, Linda.

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God, I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness." Isaiah 41:10 May the God of tender mercies support you during this most distressing time.

Linda, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of loss, May you find peace and comfort in knowing that your sister is walking with Jesus and will continue to smile down upon you, cherish the memories for they are truly a gift, and allow me to share with you a small quote written by Thomas Cambell,
" To live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die"

Miss Shirley always had kind words, a smile, and a hug for my children when we were at Ward's. My daughter kept asking about her all the time she was sick and so much wanted her to get better. We'll miss you, sweet Shirley.

To my sister, my friend, Shirley. I love you so very very much and will miss you. We were a team especially during this last year that we fought cancer together. You never gave up, Shirley. I am so very proud of you. You were so kind and good to people. You never met a stranger!! But I know that you are with God now and you will no longer be in pain. I am so very fortunate to have you as my sister. I love you. Linda

I'm heartbroken. My 6-year-old son asked to go see Shirley last week, but we all came down with coughs and I didn't want to risk it. He had a little cash register and a basket of groceries he wanted to bring so they could play "Wards." We were planning to go today, but when I called ahead I heard the sad news. Shirley, Hoyt and I both loved you so dearly - week after week we came through your line at the store, no matter how many people were ahead of us, or how few people beside us. I can still hear you saying so many times, "Bye bye, baybee. Bye bye."
Wishing you eternal peace, sweet friend.

Shirley was always such a ray of sunshine at Ward's and once she realized that I knew her sister, Linda, the Lawyer, then we had loads to talk about. She was soooo proud of you!
