CORYELL, RALPH
Ralph Coryell, a 23-year resident of Gainesville, passed away at the age of 88 on December 6th. Ralph was a native of Detroit, Michigan who served in the US Navy in World War II and a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to a long career in real estate in Cincinnati before retiring to Gainesville to be close to family. In their retirement, Ralph and his wife, Mary, were active in local volunteer work and in their church, Servants of Christ. They also traveled extensively in the US and Canada as well as in Europe to share good times with their far-flung family and friends. Ralph was loved by many, who remember his warm, outgoing spirit and pleasure in bringing people together. Central to Ralph's life and work was his profound and abiding Christian faith. He went from this life secure in the knowledge that he was passing into the loving arms of his Savior.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, to whom he was married for 58 years, his four daughters, Nancy Coryell of Gainesville, Susan Mikolaitis of Gainesville, Kathryn Perrone of Portland, OR and Linda Eshel of Fontainebleau, France, three sons-in-law, eight grandchildren, many close relatives and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held at Servants of Christ, 3536 NW 8th Ave, Gainesville, at 10:00 am on December 26. Memorial donations in Ralph's name can be made to Gainesville Community Ministries.
