CARL OLSSON Obituary
Keystone Heights, FL - Carl N. Olsson, 82, of Keystone Heights, FL, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at ET York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Olsson was born in Miami, FL in 1930 and moved to Gainesville in 1949.
He received his Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees at the University of Florida. In 1957 he joined the faculty and taught in the departments of Physical Sciences, Geography, Physics, and Astronomy. Carl did research in Decametric Planetary Radio Astronomy. He retired from the University of Florida in 1995. He enjoyed "listening" to the planet Jupiter, reading, playing poker with his buddies, fishing, and watching the Florida Gators win.
Carl was predeceased by his wives, Jean and Dorothy "Dot", and daughters Bonnie and Kay.
He is survived by his daughter Kris Olsson Gillen (Kelly) and grandchildren Jessica, Lindsey, and Tyler Scoates, sisters Edith Singletary, Clarie Roberts, and Nancy O'Connel. Also his friends Kelly Gillen, Kay Eoff, Izzy Sheaver, Bob O'Connel, Marcia Shaffer, and Patti Bobick. Memorial donations can be made to ET York Hospice Care Center 4200 NW 90th Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32606.
A Celebration of Life will be held 5pm Wednesday, November 28, at 475 SW Naha St. in Keystone Heights.
Arrangements are under the care of MILAM FUNERAL HOME, 311 S. Main St, Gainesville, FL (352) 376-5361.

Carl was my neighbor and friend on NE 7th Terrace. I have so missed him in recent years. He was a wonderful joyous person who gave his heart generously (he even shared his secret recipe for chili with me). Carl, you are much missed. I will remember you always, I'm sure you are "swinging on a star" right where you are supposed to be dear pal.

Carl was such a good friend to me and daughter kailtin! He had such A CARING HEART,he always made me laugh and I always enjoy sitting with him and listening to book on tape and watching his favorite moves and going to the vfw and watching him play poker with his friends.. I miss him dearly!!!
