William Arthur Truelove Obituary

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, in the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. William Arthur "Fat" Truelove, age 89, of Gainesville. The Rev. Delma Simmons will officiate. Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Truelove passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, following an extended illness.

Arthur was known in this area as a lover of all phases of hunting, fishing and anything involving the outdoors. He even trapped and sold the pelts when times were hard. He laid block and waited on masons in the county in his younger days. In his earlier years he did most of his hunting in the North Georgia Mountains where he especially loved grouse hunting and trout fishing. In the later years he did most of his hunting in the Middle Georgia at the Piedmont Wildlife Refuge. There he was presented a plaque in appreciation for his assistance in Game Management for Region III. He also received a certificate of appreciation from the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service at Piedmont National Refuge for his many hours of volunteer service. Mr. Truelove was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong resident of Hall County.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Patricia Tritt of Gainesville; special friend, Jake Poole of Lula; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the North Ridge Healthcare nurses and doctors.
