A week before "our" 50th High School Reunion on Oct 7th, 2017 I learned of John's death and it hit me hard for I was sure he would attend and wanted so much to see him. We grew up living next door and will always be thankful I had him and his family in my childhood years. Yes we got in trouble and played pranks on each other. One of my fondest memories at school was lunch when I finally stopped his endless teasing by putting my chewing gum in his lovely head of hair...his expression was priceless. That of course was short lived. I have always missed him and his fun brothers and sisters and always will. My heart goes out to all of you. I am grateful I found this site and hope to "recover" your emails so I can personally write to you and John, someday we will be together again and I have no doubt that we will pick up where we left off...God does have a sense of humor.
Love You.............Cindi

John was the kind of person that you wanted as a friend. I am grateful to have known John for his great sense of humor, his kindness and his intelligence. I am very sad about John's passing but grateful for the memories I will always have of John.

It's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a longtime friend. John was known for his intelligence, his loyalty to his fellow pilots and his sometimes fervent disposition, thus earning him the nickname from his close friends of "pipe bomb". He was also known for the occasional practical joke. Once, while I was chairing a particularly intense MEC meeting, he, unknowingly to me, filled my ice water glass with vodka. The sad part was I didn't notice but the meeting went remarkably better.
We remember John's lively wit, his easy access to a good time and his absolute devotion to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
