Nina Mae Farmer Obituary
Farmer was born in Carroll County, Va., on Jan. 13, 1921, to John Wise and Anne Blanche Chappell Montgomery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oley Hanson Farmer; and brother, Claude Kennon Montgomery.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marcelle Farmer Hooks and Claude Allen Hooks of Raleigh, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Oley Farmer and Gail Puder Farmer of Hampstead, N.C.; grandchildren, Christopher Parrish, Melissa G. Byrd, Clarinda Howard, Olivia Mae Farris and Audra M. Burrows; seven great-grandchildren; and one niece, Sharon Montgomery-Jertberg.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Steve Gayheart officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Woodlawn Cemetery, c/o Libby Bowman, P.O. Box 391, Woodlawn, Va. 24381.
