Janet L O'Heron

1925 - 2013

Janet L. O'Heron, 88, of Crestline, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Kobacker House, Columbus after suffering a stroke two weeks ago.
Janet was born in Crestline at the family home on South Thoman Street on March 7, 1925 to the late Frank C. and Agnes (Hunter) McNeal. She married Robert J. O'Heron on December 17, 1945 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2003.
Janet was a lifelong resident of the South Thoman Street area. She graduated in 1942 from Crestline High School. She attended Mansfield Business School and then went to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a clerk in the freight house and ticket office during the war. She then worked for the Crestline Public Schools as a secretary to the Superintendent, then as a cafeteria worker where she retired in 1989. Janet was a faithful member of the First English Lutheran Church, Crestline and currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline. She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School Beginners Class for several years. She loved to go to auctions.
She is survived by her four sons: Joe & Becky O'Heron of Enterprise, AL, Jeff O'Heron of Crestline, Jan Hunter O'Heron of Columbus and Jim O'Heron of Crestline and her granddaughter Maggie O'Heron.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers; Frank and Herbert H. McNeal, her two sisters; Grace Speelman and Ruth Ross and her half-brother Webster McNeal.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to funeral services which will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline on Saturday October 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park, Mansfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
