Lean Accurso Obituary

GASTONIA - Lena Panker Accurso, 89, died March 26, 2010, at the home of her grandson.

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Ippilitto Pangaro. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia Founders Chapel with Reverend Mr. Art Kingsley officiating. Entombment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include her grandchildren and spouses, Dale and Jeff Ford of Norwalk, Conn., Rick and Dorothy Accurso of Gastonia, Ann Marie and David Carleton of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Dianne and Andrew Kotkin of Frederick, Md.; great-grandchildren, Brian and Chris Ford, P.J. and Ricky Accurso III, Cameron, Christian and Charlotte Carleton, Hannah, Michael and Evan Kotkin; and special friend, Lillian Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Accurso.; her son, Richard Accurso Sr. and her brother, Larry Panker.

Memorials may be made to the Heart Society of Gaston County, 1201 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
