Joe Stratton Obituary

CHARLOTTE - Joe Lee Stratton, 93, of 6512 Tuckaseegee Road, died April 25, 2009, at his residence.
He was born in Goree, Texas, the son of the late A.J. and Nell Johnston Stratton. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and an elder in the Char-lotte West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marie Stratton; two daughters, Connie Clark of Charlotte, Sandra Tino and husband Doug of Huntersville; four sons, Larry Stratton and wife Janice of Mount Holly, Lee Stratton and wife Debbie of Huntersville, David Stratton and wife Nancy of Charlotte, Monte Stratton and wife Pat of Belmont; a sister, Doris Frey of Texas; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly, with Elder Roy Nienke officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
