Peggy Pickelsimer Obituary

GASTONIA - Peggy Pickelsimer, 83, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hos-pice House in Dallas.
The daughter of the late Marshall Claude Stroupe and Mary Ellen Stroupe Williams, she was born Sept. 20, 1931 in Gaston County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Randall Pickelsimer; grandparents, James Ferguson Torrence and Della Jane Chaney Torrrence; and great-granddaughter, Gabriella Rose Shulga.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Debi Pickelsimer Hughes of South Carolina, Lisa Pickelsimer Her-ron and husband Tim of Gastonia, Becky Pickelsimer Brown and husband Sean of Pennsylvania; broth-er, Marshall Claude "Buddy" Stroupe Jr. and Wife Helen; Pa-Pa Edmond V. "Bill" Williams; sisters-in-law, Saundra Sanders of Dallas, Mary Pickelsimer of Dallas; Dian Enfinger and husband Raleigh of Florida; grandchildren, Keri, Katie, Heather, Taylor, Kyle, Erin, Levi, Ryan, and Heidi; great-grandchildren, Ad-dam, Hannah, Corbin, Shane, Abby, Chase, and Jaiden.
Mrs. Pickelsimer was a charter member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia.
She was a faithful wife, dedicated mother and outstanding grandmother.
Peggy has many years invested in the children of Gaston County as a childcare provider, as well as many unselfish years to her church family.
The family would like to thank the caretakers of Mrs. Pickelsimer, Mary Pickelsimer, Saundra Sanders and Jim and Dottie Brown for all their care, as well as the nurses and staff of Woodlawn Haven of Mount Holly, and Gaston Hospice for their compassion extended to Peggy through her journey.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Roger Overton, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
