Isabelle Petersen Obituary

Survived by her husband Gerald R. Petersen, sister, Eugenia Traynor-Sheboygan, WI, stepson, Randal Petersen-Anchorage, Alaska, nieces and nephews. Ise taught school for 36 years, including 2 years in Germany for DOD, 1 year in Iran, 1 year in Alaska and retired from Fountain-Ft. Carson in 1986. Izzy loved to travel and has been in most of the major cities of the world along with Australia, Africa, China, India and the Holy Land. Isabelle loved all the arts, including operas, plays, musicals and singing in Soli Deo Choir. Ise also served as president of the AAUW and worked with the Assistant League. Her favorite club was "Chocolate Lovers Club." Izzy loved to eat out, shop, chat with friends, play bridge and other games. Isabelle served as a novice Nun for one year after High School. Her blue eyes shown brightly and always had a smile. Isabelle was taken after a long illness with Parkinsonism to be with God. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. May God bless her forever. She was loved not only for what she was, but for what we were when around her. Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 7, 10:00am, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

I only knew Isabelle for a brief period of her very rich life. Lunches with her Friday group. She was full of life and full of laughs. I agree this was a wonderful obit. Thank you Isabelle for your inspiration I am a better person for knowing you.
