I idolized Marty, who was 2 years ahead of me at St. Thomas Military Academy. Even way back then, he was the best of his peers and a guy to be admired for all of his good qualities. I totally lost rack of him after his graduation, but when reading this, attached to the STA Alumni News, it gave me the opportunity to catch up on his wonderful life of service, express appreciation for having known him, and offer condolences to his family and prayers for his future.

Dr Olsen was a great help during an intense marital challenge. Thoughtful, inciteful and compassionate. The right man at the right time with the right plan that led to a positive way forward. Blessings to his family as they mourn this great loss.

My heart skipped some beats and my eyes teared up when I read of the passing of Marty in the paper this morning. I cherish my memories of being in his class at UCCS back in the '70's. I extend my deep condolences to you and your family, Betty.

I had the pleasure of knowing Martin at UCCS. We once had classes next door to each other and would often talk before and after classes. He even invited me to sit in on his classes He was an outstanding professor, kind and had a great love for his students. Rest in peace Marty. Bob Z, Professor Emeritus UCCS
