Ineta (Myrick) Obituary

Ineta (Nita) Alene Nolting (Myrick), devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, granny & treasured friend, peacefully joined her Lord on December 28, 2011. Nita was born on December 22, 1934 in "Dollar Hollow" (Chimes), Arkansas to Garland and Priscilla Myrick(Deceased). She lived in Arkansas, Illinois and Missouri, then settled down in Colorado Springs in 1971. She was very proud of her Cherokee Indian heritage. She had a fierce loyalty to those she loved and her door was always open to her many friends. She had many passions but most of all, was her love for sewing, crocheting and canning. She was an accomplished seamstress and clothing designer. She was a quilter for many years with her sisters and Mother. She crocheted hundreds of afghans for family, friends, and the elderly in local nursing homes. Growing up on a farm she learned to can all types of vegetables, fruits and preserves. Friends and family enjoyed her pickles, green beans, dilly beans, jellies and jams the most. She was a dining and banquet restaurant server and manager and later the bartender at the Bella Vista for some 20 years. Nita was preceded in death by: her son Ric Loftin, grandson Darrell Loftin, & great-grandchild Ryland Loftin. Nita is survived by her partner: Mike Lennon; six children: GW Loftin(Joyce), Steve Loftin(Mary), Cindi Monahan(Dave), Dena Sherman, Bill Nolting(Jessica) & Harry(Whitey) White; a brother: Fred Myrick, a sister: Linda Ragland; eight grandchildren: Ave, Leslie, Shane, Kristen, Kim, Jeremiah, Hayley and Amber; five great-grandchildren: Kayla, Ashley, Lacey, Raiden and Yasmine, and one great-great-grandchild: Luke, and many nieces and nephews. Her favorite poem and quotation follows: "I give you this one thought to keep - I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning's hush I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still - in each new dawn." "A Mother Holds Her Children's Hand For A Short While But Holds Their Heart Forever" There will be no services. Contributions in her memory may be made to the "Pikes Peak Community Foundation," 2002 Creek Crossing, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. ref: Ineta Nolting.
