Lois Westen Obituary

Lois Armour Westen, nee Grace Lois Armour, born February 10th, 1918 passed November 24th, 2014. She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Risdon John Westen, her daughter Susanna Jane Westen, son Rex John Westen, and sister Jane Foster.

Born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois, she was a graduate of Smith College, earned a Master's degree from Yale and a doctorate in German literature from the University of Illinois. She taught at Colorado College and at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

She considered her family her greatest achievement.

After her retirement she lived many years near Lake George, Colorado but returned to Colorado Springs for her final years.

She will be remembered and mourned for her lively mind and unequaled kindness.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 Saturday, November 29th at Shove Chapel on the Colorado College campus, with a reception following at McKenzie Place, 1605 Elm Creek View at 12:30
