E. Wilson Obituary

E. Enos Wilson May 10, 1919 – November 10, 2011 Colorado native, Enos Wilson, died at his home in Loma at the age of 92. Enos Wilson was born in Evergreen to Curtis S. Wilson and Mary Maud (Hicks) Wilson. Raised on the Wilson Dairy, he went to the Hodson School on North Turkey Creek. He married Edna Theresia Fields of Conifer in 1936. They had six children. Enos served in the Nay in World War II. Enos worked as a carpenter foreman which he continued after moving to Loma in 1967. He worked in construction until his retirement in 1984 when he went to work doing what he really loved, custom farming in the Loma area. He also raised Limousin cattle. He is well-known in Loma for his hard work and the man to go to when you needed your hay put up. Enos was a founding member of the Jefferson County Sherriff's Mounted Posse established in 1952 and then a member of the Mesa County Posse after moving to Loma for a total of 45 years. Enos is survived by two sons, Steven Wilson of Elko and Curt Wilson of Limon; two daughters, Katherine Hayes of Loma and Barbara Craig of Elko; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna and two sons, Donald of San Diego and Phillip of Salem, Indiana; his parent, and seven siblings. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado. Services will be held at 10:00 am. on Tuesday, November 15th at Loma Community Church.

While I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Wilson, I will miss seeing him on his tractor in the Loma fields.
