Jerald Gardner Obituary

Jerald Ross Gardner June 20, 1937 – November 30, 2011 Jerald Ross Gardner of Grand Junction, CO, died on November 30, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center. He was 74 years of age. Jerald was born on February 20, 1937 at Dayton, OH to Henry and Jane (Davis) Gardner. He spent his childhood at Littleton, CO and graduated from Littleton High School in 1955. He attended Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ and University of Denver in Denver, CO. He married the love of his life, Betty Jo Scott, on September 22, 1984 at Grand Junction. Betty survives him. Other survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Rita Gardner of Pueblo, CO; Jason and Robyn Gardner of Parker, CO; Jeff and Vickie McSchooler of Parker, CO, and Tillmon and Kristy McSchooler of Grand Junction, CO; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Mike Simpson of Fraser, CO; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Susan Gardner of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Roger Wheaton of Littleton, CO; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His parents and two brothers, Robert and James, preceded him in death. Jerald was a member of Canyon View Vineyard Church in Grand Junction. He belonged to the American Society of Landscape Architects and was very proud to have been one of the first 100 landscape architects licensed in the state of Colorado in 1968. He was the 97th. Jerry liked spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B No. 12th St., Grand Junction, CO 81506. Arrangements are under the caring direction of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
