MARY MOORE Obituary
GRETNA-Mary Custer Moore, age 95 of 4984 Rockford School Road, Gretna died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center.
Born March 24, 1915 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Dan Custer and Annie Gross Custer. Mrs. Moore was predeceased by her husband, Edward Wade Moore. She was a member of Greenpond Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was a home maker, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting , and canning.
She is survived by one daughter, Eloise A. Scruggs of Gretna; three grandchildren, Kenneth L. Scruggs of Gretna, Keith Scruggs and wife, Lari of Gretna, and Pamela Rowland and husband, Owen of Gretna; one great-grandchild, Brandie Worsham and husband, Kevin of Gretna; two great-great-grandchildren, Kristen Worsham, and Darrien Worsham; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Greenpond Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Carlton. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at the residence of her grandson, Keith and Lari Scruggs, 112 Knollwood Drive, Gretna, and other times will be the residence.
