HAROLD MOOREFIELD Obituary

Harold Napoleon Moorefield

Harold Napoleon Moorefield, of 316 Chatham Drive, died February 16, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on April 15, 1919 a son of Isaac N. Moorefield and Lillian Payne Moorefield of Caswell County, NC. He was the last member of his generation. So many people will remember him as the "Bread Man" with Sunbeam Bakery. He also retired from the City of Danville Sheriff's Department and enjoyed being a Courtesy Driver for Wyatt Buick until its closing. He was a member of American Legion Post 325. He attended Blairs Baptist Church until his decline in health. He was also a member of the Senior Citizen Choir. He is survived by his wife Gladys H. Moorefield of the home; two daughters, Patsy M. Huffstetler and Linda M. Cox; four grandchildren, Eddie Huffstetler and wife Darcy, Scott Huffstetler and wife Andrea, Andrea H. Cockman and Leslie Pait; and four great-grandchildren, Johnnie Pait, Ariel Pait, Christian Cockman and Kennedy Cockman; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one son, Wayne Moorefield, one great-granddaughter, Serena Cockman, four sisters and one brother. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979. The family requests no home visitation or food be brought in. Leslie,
I never met Mr. Napoleon, but I felt as though I knew him because of you always sharing stories about him. You two had a very special relationship and I could see the love that you have for him when you spoke of him. My prayers of comfort are with you, Ms. Linda, Ariel and Johnnie. I will always think of him with a big smile on his face when he came to Ballou Senior Citizen Center/known as Ballou Recreation Center, where I retired. He will be surely missed by all who knew him.

Mrs. Moorefield, My family was very sorry to hear of Harold's passing. My children always enjoyed talking to "Mr. Milfore" at Wyatt Buick. He was a special person with a kind, kind heart.
