NEVA SHELTON Obituary
Neva Edwards Shelton, age 94, of 1400 Weal Rd. Chatham, VA died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Chatham Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 18, 1916, in Pittsylvania County, VA, the daughter of the late Semmie Wade Edwards and the late Sarah Alice Edwards. She was a member of Chatham Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by one son, Kent Shelton and his wife Diane of Danville; one daughter, Sarah Shelton Hostetter and her husband Ernest of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, George Shelton of Greensboro, NC and Ashley Morgan of Bethesda, MD as well as two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Shelton and one sister, Claire Edwards Cook.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Scott Funeral Home chapel on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Mikel D. Pugh officiating. Burial will be at Chatham Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 2:00-3:00 PM and at other times will be at the residence of Kent Shelton, 201Cathy Dr., Danville, VA.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Chatham Presbyterian Church at P.O. Box 668 Chatham, VA 24531.
