Alvis Franklin Straughan

Alvis Franklin Straughan, 86, of 1468 Sherwood Dr. Reidsville, N.C. went to be with his Lord and Savior

Friday August 24, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday August 27, 2012 at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park with military rites. A native of Guilford County, he was a son of the late William Alvis and Nannie Flack Straughan and had lived for the past twelve years in Reidsville moving here from Greensboro, N.C. He was a retired salesman for Cone Mills and was a WWII Navy Veteran. A member of First Baptist Church and the Robinson-Moore Sunday School Class at the church, he was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Harrelson Straughan. Surviving: sons: Steve Straughan and wife June of Snow Camp, NC, Keith Straughan and wife Sheena of Reidsville, NC, grandchildren: Stephanie Straughan of Snow Camp, NC and Jessica Straughan of Charlotte, NC, step-grandson: Brandon Reavis of Greesnboro, NC, sister: Muriel S. Creech of New Smyrna Beach, FL The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Sunday August 26, 2012 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
