Kenneth Isaacs Obituary

SAN ANGELO Kenneth Eugene Isaacs, 66, of San Angelo, Texas, left to be with the lord on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, after losing his battle with cancer. The funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Murphy officiating. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m., in Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, Texas. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Kenneth was born Jan. 26, 1944, in San Angelo, Texas, to Euda B. and Leonard Floyd Isaacs. Kenneth was raised in Eldorado by his grandparents, Willie and Isabella Isaacs. He attended both Eldorado and Sonora high schools. Kenneth joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Kenneth married Karen Louise Davis, Feb. 11, 1967, in Albuquerque, N.M. Kenneth and Karen moved to Japan where he served his final tour. Following this tour he received an honorable discharge. Kenneth and Karen returned to San Angelo, Texas, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Angelo State University. Kenneth and Karen spent the rest of their life in San Angelo, close to family. Kenneth loved fast cars, clothes, music and woodworking. He could fix anything with duct tape and had every kind of flash light made. Ken was and avid sports fan and hunter. He could play both piano and guitar by ear. Ken enjoyed gathering with friends and family. Our beloved husband, father and friend was a very proud American. Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will and Isabella; by his parents, Leonard Floyd and Euda B.; one brother, Floyd Isaacs; and one sister, Euda B. Forehand. He is survived by his loving family: wife Karen Isaacs of San Angelo; his son, Will Isaacs and his wife, Samantha, of San Angelo; his daughter, Melissa Isaacs of Norman, Okla.; one granddaughter, Andrea Isaacs of San Angelo; his sisters, Willie Ruth Isaacs of Eldorado, Alice Henry of San Antonio, Sylvia Kotrla of Eldorado; one brother-in-law, Damon Davis and his wife, Carol, of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all of our family and friends and to Dr. Falzur Rahman, Dr. James Studt, Dr. Keith Walvoord and their staff, for all of the loving care and support given to our family during Kenneth's illness. We would also like to extend special thanks Eva Sorrels for all of the loving care given to Kenneth. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Willie Ruth and all Isaacs family members -- I have just read of Kenneth's passing. So sorry, for all of you, for your loss. My, what a wonderful life Kenneth and Karen must have had. I know that God will give you all extra strength to rise above the sadness of your loss. Hang on to the wonderful and fun memories -- they are "keepers", for sure.
