Martha Beauchamp Obituary

SAN ANGELO On Wednesday, April 30, 2014, Martha Eileen Beauchamp (nee Henderson), "Marty", age 74, of San Angelo, was called home to be with our Lord. Marty was born Sept. 28, 1939, in Robinson, Illinois, to Ausby and Eva Henderson. Marty graduated from Robinson High in 1956, where she was a proud member of the drum section of the Robinson Marching Band. On Feb. 14, 1959, Marty married the love of her life, Norm Beauchamp. Marty was an exuberant woman, full of life and was very much a "people person" as she evidenced by the many friends she made in the various places where she and her husband, Norm, lived. Marty was a staunch supporter of the military and was extremely proud that three of her children and two of her grandchildren served in the various armed forces. She was one of the few people who were able to stand when honoring each branch of the service as her daughters served in the Navy and Air Force, one son served in the Marines and two grandsons served in the Army. Marty retired with 30 years of service from US West where she started as a phone operator and worked her way through the position of service representative before retiring as a communication consultant and marketing representative. Through her years Marty was a member of the Concho Valley Republican Women, New Timers, Red Hats and an associate member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. After surviving four open heart surgeries over the years, Marty succumbed to complications from a surgery she had due to a recent fall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ausby Henderson and Eva Henderson (nee Plummer); and her elder brother, Glenn Henderson. Marty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Norm; daughter Loraine Shepherd (San Angelo, Texas); son and daughter-in-law Brad and Julie Beauchamp (Brady, Texas); daughter Leslee Beauchamp (San Angelo); son and daughter-in-law Bart and Polly Beauchamp (Gilbert, Arizona); 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held May 26, at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Women of Power Ministries, P.O. Box 209, San Angelo, TX 76902; or to any charity in memory of Marty Beauchamp.

Norm an family, Frank and I are so sad to hear about Marty's passing. It was great being yals neighbor for years and visiting with Marty so many times. We talked politics and you could just see in her face the love she had for her country and the rights she believed in. May God hold yal all close and give you strength to go forward. Marty got her angel wings to fly and be free of the illness she had on earth. You all are in our prayers.
