Peter Gregg Obituary

Peter V. Gregg

San Angelo

Peter Vincent Gregg, 69, of San Angelo, went to walk the streets of gold with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 in San Angelo.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1946 to Eudis and Caroline (Carson) Gregg in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Paul Gregg.

Peter is survived by his loving spouse of 34 years, Gloria; his daughters Amanda Gregg, Rosie Gregg, Paula (Brad) Baker, Theresa Gregg and Cecilia Gregg; son Christopher (Bethany) Gregg; two special grandsons, Reagan Peter Gregg, Riley Paul Gregg, and grandchildren Brianna Gregg, Jake Zarate, Jackson and Jillian Baker, Ariana Gregg and Elia Gregg.

Peter loved the Lord with all his heart and spent his life serving the Lord and serving others. To know Peter was to love him. He never met a stranger, and shared his warm hugs and words with everyone. His six favorite words were "I Love You" and "God Bless You".

Peter spent time serving in the Peace Corps (1969 - 1971) in Bolivia, and lived in various places internationally with his parents, who were officers in the Air Force and Women's Army Corp.

Peter loved his job as a medical social worker. He cared deeply for all his patients and colleagues, and always went above and beyond the call of duty for them.

Peter served as a deacon at Glen Meadows Baptist Church. His love and joy came from serving the Lord and others. The love of Christ shined from Peter's heart and poured out to all those he knew and loved. He really was a ray of Sonshine.

Peter married the love of his life, Gloria, on Dec. 8, 1982. They were absolute best friends and did everything together. No greater love existed than theirs. They had two daughters, Amanda and Rosie, who Peter always referred to as his angels; they were his pride and joy.

Peter's happiness multiplied when his grandsons were born. Reagan Peter Gregg and Riley Paul Gregg were the apples of his eye. Peter left a phenomenal legacy of love, compassion, discipleship and service for his daughters and grandchildren; a legacy they will continue in love and honor of their precious Daddy and Pa.

Pallbearers will be Richard Blake, Tony Avalos, Tom Houston, Martin Medrano, Gary Cox, and Chris Henorema. Honorary pallbearers will be the Glen Meadows Baptist Church deacons.

Visitation will be heldfrom 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Glen Meadows Baptist Church with Mack Roller, pastor of Glen Meadows Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie funeral home. Online condolences can be given at RobertMassie.com.

So heartbreaking to have lost such a loving and wonderful man. We were blessed to have such an amazing Uncle like Peter! The BEST! I was 4 years old the 1st time i met him, i knew that moment he was gonna be the BEST uncle ever! I was right! I will always remember the laughs, warm hugs, funny jokes, when he'd spin me in circles till i'd get dizzy, push me high to the sky on the swings, and SO MUCH MORE!! I am THANKFUL that my little family got to make memories with him and everything he did when i was a little girl he did with my Boys. My Matt & Mali LOVED him with all their hearts! Thank you for all the WONDERFUL memories Uncle Peter. I will miss your kisses on the forhead, with a, "I love you sweetie and God bless you!" You were THE BEST! We LOVE you ALWAYS and FOREVER!!! ❤ Love, Martin, Jess and The BOYS!! ❤
