Hello Pam, Hayne, Mary, Sarah, John, Cathy, & Steven,

As all of you know, Pres was a truly great man, husband, father, and friend. Words fare poorly in the shadow of such a great man, doctor, and adventurer. Pres was a lot of things, to a lot of people, and an inspiration to us all. In all of the precious years, I knew him. I can not recall anyone, having anything negative to say about Pres (Pres Darby, Dr. J. P. Darby, Dr. "D", etc.). That in it's self is, extremely rare. He was always trying to make things easier for the people around him, and tried to take care of them. He comforted countless souls, over the years, and around the World.

The people that knew Pres, and even the people that never met him, could see the greatness in him, and the deeds that he accomplished, at the time. And of course, hindsight is 20/20. So, his accumulation of great deeds and adventrues, are seen, even more clearly, now.

San Angelo and the World, has lost a tremendous asset, a great doctor, a great humanitarian, and a great friend. He has left behind a great legacy in you, his children. The World is a better place because of what he did in his life, while he was here, on this Earth. He lived life to the fullest, without stepping on other people's toes.

Pres had a great support team, in all of you. You attributed to his adventures, a life well lived, and a wonderful life extended.

Pam, you did an amazing job of taking care of Pres, before ALS set in, and certainly, after ALS encroached.

It has been a great honor and a pleasure to know Pres. He enriched my life. The times Pres and I went flying, SCUBA diving, just being with him, boating, canoeing, etc., are very, cherished memories. It has also been a great pleasure to know you, Pam, Hayne, Mary Sarah, John, Cathy, & Steven. Thank you, for sharing Pres with San Angelo and the World. We really appreciate it.

It will take time, to ease the pain of sharing Pres with Heaven. I feel though, he will look in on us, from time to time. My prayers are with all of you.

I hold back a tear, as I close.

With Heartfelt Sympathy And Sincerity,

Mark Lowery & Danice McCrohan

Pam and family,
It's been some time since I've seen you guys. I didn't have the honor of meeting Pres but after reading all the memorials, I feel as if I had missed knowing a very special person.
On a lighter side, you all need to come up for another visit before the cottage is sold.
Pam, take care and know we all are keeping you in our thoughts.

Hugs
Sue

Dear Pam and family members,
Pres was one of the few docs that I held in great esteem. His ethics and common sense and understanding of people made him a rare gem among others. I shall never forget him and his kindnesses over the years when we worked together. I could always count on him to have a great story and his act of kindness by taking the entire ICU out to eat after a tetanus patient improved just showed how zealous he was in recognizing and dealing with oppressed and struggling people. God will surely bless your family, and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Pam and Family,
I have known and worked with Pres since he came to San Angelo. We have lost a fine physician, a kind and courageous man and humanitarian. His battle with ALS should be an inspiration to all of us. He will long be remembered for his good works. Robert G. Bridges, M.D. (Cloudcroft, NM)

Pam and family,
I know it has been a very long, hard and tiring battle for Pres, you and your family. I am sure God wanted to ensure that Pres would not only leave a wonderful legacy for those of us who knew him in San Angelo, either as patients, or friends, but He must have wanted to see Pres finish his books so that even more people would get to experience such a wonderful human being.
Pam, look at all the character that you and your family members have developed over this time! Through his dreadful illness, remarkable stamina, and subsequent loss, many of us have benefitted by knowing him and learning from him. Thank you for sharing him with us!
God bless,
