San Angelo
Myrtle Louise Cotie Hester, 100, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, surrounded by her love ones.
She was born in Lufkin, Texas on Nov. 15, 1916 to the late Archie Cotie and Carolyn Ferguson. Myrtle graduated from Lufkin High School. She was married to R.H. "Buck" Rogers for 35 years until his passing in 1973. Then she later married Si Hester and remained married until his death in 1991.
Myrtle had a career as a department manager for K-Mart cosmetic department for many years, and later became a greeter at Wal-Mart in her later years. Myrtle had a passion for knitting, crocheting, and needle point. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets, table clothes, and bed spreads for her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Ella Patricia Keating of San Angelo, Texas, Bobby Rogers and his wife Denise of Lockhart, Texas, and Linda Jackson of San Angelo, Texas. She also leaves to cherish nine grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, March 27, in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
