Ernest W. "Ernie" Widmaier

Widmaier, Ernest "Ernie" W. Comstock Park Age 84, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 after a battle with cancer. Ernie was born on October 31, 1931 in Northville, Michigan to Charles and Annetta Widmaier. He served in the U.S. Air Force with a tour of duty in Korea during the Korean War. Ernie was very proud of his military service, and was a member of the American Legion Post 47 in Comstock Park and VFW Post 4012 in Northville. A talented musician and singer, Ernie greatly enjoyed performing locally with the Mill Creek Band and made many friends through his music. Ernie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who would do anything for family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Margaret (Moran); sons, William (Linda) and Thomas; granddaughters, Evelyn and Eleanor; brother, Richard (Doris) Widmaier; sisters, Loretta Sloan and Doris Bonner; sisters-in-law, Agnes Nielsen and Mary Genesco, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and innumerable friends. Ernie was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and William Widmaier. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Ernie's life will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, with Pastor Eric Coleman from Faith Hospice as celebrant, and with a military service under the auspice of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home.
