Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the McHale Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Today I heard song. A song that talked about love and the fact that you should tell people you love that you love them before it's too late. The people you love, the people that love you will be the people who will ALWAYS be there for you... here or there.
Jimmy, this song made me think of you. You were, and are, always there for me. It's been almost a year but the pain doesn't go away. I miss you... always and forever! H x

My sincere condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Sgt. McHale. Each year Illinois holds a motorcycle rally which, in part, supports the Middle East Conflict Wall in Marseilles, IL. Each rider receives a dog tag with the name of a fallen service member. This year I received Sgt. McHales' name.

I am compelled every year to learn what I can about the service member I receive. Today, I read about a wonderful person who gave his life in support of our country. God bless Sgt. McHale and his family. Sgt. McHale, you are a true hero.

June 12, 2009

My heart goes out to Sgt. McHale's family and friends. With every soldier there is a story - and many stories come from behind the scenes. The lives of our sons and daughters serving isn't easy as all military parents know and understand. And there is always one soldier or memory that touches our children's lives, Sgt. McHale is one of them.

Yesterday my son Sgt. Kyle Hollenback arrived back home safely from Taji Iraq. Kyle has served almost 6 years in the Army, and two tours were in Iraq. He is a Crew Chief on the Medevac Blackhawk. He has airlifted hundreds of injured soldiers and civilians, including small children. Kyle spoke to me briefly about a fallen soldier that he will never forget - Sgt. James McHale. Kyle had never met Sgt. McHale until July 22nd - the day he got the call for Medevac. After Kyle did his duty, he was unable to get Sgt McHale out of his mind. He followed up on his condition in Germany, and even when Sgt McHale was sent to the medical center in the states. He continued to follow up on him until the end of July when he learned that Sgt McHale had passed on. It has been almost a year since the loss of this fine soldier. To this day, Kyle is unable to talk about the tragic incident other than this soldier is the one that touched his life.

Today I searched the Internet to find information regarding Sgt. McHale and found this guest book. As I read about Sgt. McHale I discovered he had the same values as my son Kyle - such giving of themselves to our country and world to make it a better place. With this said, I send my heartfelt thoughts to the parents of Sgt McHale, and would like to thank you for raising such a wonderful giving person who gave his life for our country.

To the parents and family, I offer my heartfelt sorrow for the death of your loved one. So many times we don’t understand why this has to happen to us but know that you aren’t alone. There are many who have also suffered the death of their loved ones and we know that you will get through the day one minute by minute. When my son was killed in action I thought the world would end but through connection with others who had gone through this terrible tragedy I found that I wasn’t alone. When and if you would like to reach out and talk, vent, cry or just know how to get through each minute of the day please contact me. You are now a Gold Star Family and as such you should know that many of us are here to help and listen. May God bless and comfort you each and every day.

Follow The Rainbow To Heaven.

A Soldier had die out on the
battlefield;

Broken hearts are weeping For
Them,

But take comfort of knowing
that God had sent Them a
rainbow from heaven;

The Souls of the Soldiers
have gone to there home
in heaven,

Our Loved One's has follow
God's lovely rainbow in the
sky;

All the way to the end of the
sky.

That leads all the way to the
other end of the Lord's
house in heaven,

So just keep on praying and
trust that God will send us
that same rainbow in the sky;

Where Our Loved One's are
waiting For You and For Me at
the end of the rainbow in

MCHALE FAMILY,

God Kingdom promise: God will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore. He is making wars to cease to the extremity of the earth.. And God himself will be with them.  And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. May these words give you all a measure of comfort and hope.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

To the family and parents of James I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

I wish there was something that i could say that would
in some way take away the pain from my heart and the
hearts of all those that were close and dear to james
but there is nothing.

james was a great friend and he always knew how to
brighten your day even when he was down himself.
no matter how bad i thought my day was, he would
alwyas offer me a heineken to cool off with and tell
me that someone else somewhere had it worse than i
did.

James didn't deserve to go this way, he was to good
of a person but god needed him in heaven and so now
he is an angel looking over us all.

McHales navy, I will forever miss you and you will
remain in my heart and on my skin. The times in germany
were some of my best and i will forever cherish these
memories.

thank you again man. Please keep an eye out for me.

If I ever go to war my Friends, Well never be apart,
Though we may not meet again, Ill hold you in my
heart. Remember all the times we had, Dont let your
memories cease, Your friend is a Soldier now, Dear
Friend, And Ill die to bring you peace. And when I
go to heaven, And I see that pearly gate, Ill gladly
decline entrance, Then stand my post and wait.
Im sorry Sir I cant come in, Im sort of in a bind,
You see Im still a Soldier Sir, So I cant leave
them behind.

RIP JAMES McHALE....

There is nothing I can say that will take the pain away from the family and each of the friends of Jimmy at this time!

The people here in Europe, myself included, cannot imagine him not coming back... the Pub and every other place I went to with Jimmy will seem empty without him.

He didn't deserve this... he was a wonderful person and he is now an ANGEL!

He ALWAYS had words of wisdom and always knew how to keep me calm and in check :) All he really wanted was for everyone to get along and hang out over a few pints of Guiness... :)

Jimmy, we hate that you are gone but we know that you would want us to be happy... we have stopped the stupid and pointless arguing, we are building bridges all over again. You were right, you always were... I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to realise it.

Thank you for everything you ever did for me. Please look out for me... I still need you :)

Always in my heart and in my memories,

H xx

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SGT James A. McHale our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for James. And to James it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made in combat while serving the U.S. Army and his country. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. James, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,409 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to James’ family and loved ones.

To the McHale family,

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold James' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

My condolences to the family of Sgt. James A. McHale. I know there are no words that can go as deep as the grief they feel. There are no words that can ease their pain. But I hope and pray that there is the comfort of knowing that there are many, many people who care very deeply about them; and that care so very deeply about James.
