Charles Roll Obituary

HAVRE - Charles Byron Roll, 47, a biomedical electronic technician, died of acute myeloid leukemia Thursday at a Havre hospital.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church, followed by a fellowship lunch at the church. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Colleen Roll of Havre; daughters Kristin Marie and Keri Ann Roll of Havre; his mother, Lynn Roll-Nelson of Havre; a sister, Joan Roll of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandmother Esther Brendgord of Havre; an uncle, David Roll of Granbury, Texas; mother and father in-law Beverly and Edward Boucher of Havre; brothers in-law Gregg and Eddy Boucher of Havre and Brian Boucher of Whitefish; special friends Dr. Donald Berdeaux of Great Falls and Dr. Bruce Richardson of Havre; and his co-workers and friends at Northern Montana Hospital.
Charles died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at Northern Montana Hospital, with his family around him.
Charles was born Jan. 24, 1959, in Shelby, to Gene Dempsey and Mary Lynn (Brendgord) Roll. He attended first and second grade in Shelby. He moved with his family to Havre, where he started the third grade. Charles graduated from Havre High School in 1977, then went on to graduate from Northern Montana College in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in electronics.
He married Colleen Marie Boucher on Oct. 23, 1982, in Havre. They resided in Havre, where Charles was employed by Northern Montana Hospital for the last 25 years as a biomedical electronics technician. He received additional schooling and training for his job. He became a certified biomedical equipment technician in September of 1987. He was president of Northern Montana Hospital Credit Union from July 1994 until September 2006.
Charles was a hard worker and provider for his family, and his family was the most important thing to him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. In his spare time, he did remodeling on his home and worked in his yard. He enjoyed repairing guns and old clocks. Charles enjoyed life, his family, his friends and his dogs, Buddy and Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
Memorial contributions in Charles' honor may be made to The Charles Roll Scholarship Fund at Montana State University-Northern Foundation; or to the Gift of Life.
