Howard McClure Obituary

Howard Alvin McClure, 94, of Great Falls, a retired employee of Fuller Paints in Missoula, died of natural causes on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at a local care facility.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.

Howard Alvin McClure was born on April 29, 1918 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Oley and Betsy (Benson) McClure. He was raised on a farm in North Dakota. In 1935, because of the drought in North Dakota his family moved to a farm owned by his uncle, Albin Benson, in Arlee, Montana. He graduated from Arlee High School in 1939. In 1945 he married Hulda Linquist, also of Arlee. They later divorced, but remained friends until Hulda's death in January. In 1946, they moved to Missoula.

Howard worked for Fuller paints in Missoula from 1950 until 1985. In 1970, he moved to Butler Creek, west of Missoula and lived there until 2001, when he moved to Great Falls to live with his son Roy McClure.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Missoula since 1950.

Howard was a man whom his family and friends could always count on and will be greatly missed.

Howard is survived by his son Roy McClure of Great Falls; grandchildren Christopher McClure, Emily McNaight and Anna Ray of Great Falls and Sarah McClure of Los Angeles, Calif.; great-grandchildren Jasmine McClure of Missoula and Kale McNaight of Great Falls.
