Norene Ross Obituary
Norene J. Ross, 92, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Woodside Lutheran Nursing Home. Norene was born on Dec. 9, 1918, in Battlecreek, Mich., the daughter of the now late William and Blanch (Teadt) Rodgers. She was very active in high school and was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. She married Oliver Barron Ross and he preceded her in death. Early in her career Norene was a Nursing Assistant at St. Mary's in Watertown, Wis. and Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Calif. She also worked at Stein's Home Garden and Gifts in Green Bay, for several years. Norene loved holidays and would always decorate her home to reflect each occasion, but by far Christmas was the most special to her. She was very adept at cultivating orchids and loved planting flower gardens in her back yard; she always had a beautiful display. Norene had a kind heart and always gave freely of her time to help others.
Norene is survived by her children, Annette (Robert) Herrick, Green Bay; Joanne (William) Peintinger, Richland, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, Mark (Kathy) Herrick, Julie Herrick, Steven Miller, Lisa (Drew) Cook, Robin Hudson, Heather (Jon) Fein, Robert Ross, Aaron Ross, Carrisa Ross, Jennifer Ross; eight great-grandchildren, Maxwell Herrick, Jason Miller, Cristina Marte, Connor Fein, Briana Ross, Abby Ross. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barron "Barry" Ross; brothers and sisters.
Gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at the Woodside Lutheran Home Chapel at 1040 Pilgrim Way, Green Bay. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Apfel officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
The family extends special appreciation to Woodside Lutheran Home and Heartland Home Hospice Care for all of their loving care and concern.
