Mary Sawyer Obituary
Mary passed away peacefully at her Home on November 11, 2016, with the sun illuminating her face, after an Inspirational battle with cancer. She was a Loving Nana to Jonah and Natalie, Mother to Stephanie and Shawn, Sister to Jim, Tom (Dawn) and Jake (Michelle). Additionally, Mary was Family and a Friend to an endless list.
Mary graduated from Southwest High School (Green Bay).
Mary's two green thumbs were evident where ever she travelled. Mary was a genuine "people person" and had a true gift for connecting with people anywhere she went. Mary had an extensive community of dear friends through the 12 Step Program and was deeply grateful for the support that helped her maintain 18 years of Sobriety. Mary leaves with a Legacy of touching the lives of many and giving Unconditionally to others, no matter her health challenges. For many years, she volunteered her time to conduct AA Meetings in the jail and welcomed those being released from prison integrated into the Recovery community.
Mary is preceded in death by her Parents, Barbara and Tom Sawyer.
A Heartfelt Thank You goes out to the Cancer Oncology Team at St. Mary's Hospital.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 1 pm at Mary's Home.

As a counselor working with Mary I will never forget her willingness to "go to any lengths" to sobriety. She was an inspiration for others. As she was such a "speedy" talker I recall telling her in group to "back up the train". Later when she joined my Alumni Group she brought me a train engineer cap and whistle. I treasure those memories and am so grateful God put the gift of Mary in my life.
God bless all family and friends who will mourn the loss of her.
