April Veraghen Obituary
April Veraghen, 33, and Damien Veraghen, 9, Green Bay, died Monday, January 20, 2014. April was born April 25, 1980. Her life greatly changed when she gave birth to Damien on August 25, 2004. She was a dedicated and loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. Damien was an up-beat child always ready to light up a room with his smile and beautiful eyes.
April was completely devoted to Damien, as he struggled with Autism and Epilepsy. She was his constant companion and gladly never left his side. April was extremely proud of how Damien would smile through all of his troubles. She was loving and caring to all and would be there for anyone who needed her. April enjoyed her work at McDonald's and was thankful for how much they loved and never judged Damien.
Damien was on the Miracle League of Green Bay. He loved all sports. Damien loved his family and loved to share his hugs with anyone. He thoroughly enjoyed chips and McDonald's.
April and Damien will be greatly missed and part of our hearts went with them. They are survived by April's devoted parents and Damien's loving grandparents, Jean and Dan Veraghen; April's brother and sisters, Staci and Ron Laakonen, Sara and David Cabana, Mikky Veraghen and her fiancé, Nate Ebert, Chad Veraghen, and Summer Veraghen; April's nieces, and nephews, Kayla, Bryce, Kamin, Talia, Christian, and a nephew on the way, Treydan; April's paternal grandmother, Marie Veraghen; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
April and Damien were preceded in death by April's brother, Daniel Veraghen; her paternal grandfather, William Veraghen; and her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Yurek.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
A memorial fund has been established in April and Damien's names or please perform an act of kindness.
We greatly loved you both more than words can say, and will deeply miss you. Our hearts are broken forever.

I am so sorry. And I am so, so sorry to you, young Damien. Miss April, I continuously hear the sound of your voice and your infectious laugh in my mind. Every time I heard you laugh, it made me laugh. Every time. It's like a movie replaying in my head. I can remember every moment we spent together; every conversation, every laugh and every tear. April and Damien I never had the honor of meeting both you but I always felt like I did. From the beautiful stories your mother/grandma Jean shared with me at work..she was so proud of you April with everything you accomplished everyday. Damien I remember always asking your grandma Jean how you were doing and she would share the most heart warming stories about you. I would then go home and cry and hold my children a little tighter and be thankful for the good health they were so blessed with. My prayers are with you and your family Jean. Creator/God bless this family in time of need. I always prayed for you, Damien and April and always will...April you were a great loving mom who cared so much for her son.

April, You have always been a wonderful friend to me and always made me smile. You would do anything for anybody never selfish and always giving. I don't know what you were going through because you hid it so well. I will surely miss how you started every message with "Hey Gurlfriend,LOL" and every time I read it I could here your little laugh that you had when you talked. April and Damien both were wonderful people. Damien always had smile on his face and so full of life. He was a sweet little boy. April had a laugh that was contagious and she know how to make people laugh and put a smile on your face. She was a kind person and full of life as well. I will miss her and Damien saying "whats up girlfriend" or April saying "hows it going kittys". Heaven has gained to beautiful angels. You both will be missed dearly. May you both rest in peace now. April was one of my favorite co-workers. Her laugh made you happy and was contagious. She would always say, "Hey girlfriend!" when you were punching in. She and Damien were great people. They were both fighters. Damien was a sweet boy. May they both rest in peace.
