Sharon Monigal Obituary

Monigal, Sharon R.

Sharon R. Monigal, 58, Ashwaubenon, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 unexpectedly at home. She was born on February 18, 1958, in Green Bay to William and Gloria (Birr) Monigal.

Sharon was employed at Georgia Pacific West as an Administrative Assistant for over 38 years. She enjoyed her Bible study group. Sharon also enjoyed watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers and the Badgers. She was fortunate enough to attend two Green Bay Packer Super Bowls. Sharon liked playing cards and games with friends and family, going to plays, following the band Rocker, family trips (recently to Branson), many trips with her friends and family to Door County, and just being with her friends. Family gatherings were never dull with her humor.

Sharon is survived by her mom, Gloria; six sisters and a brother, Sue Krcma, Sandy Quigley, Gail (Dave) Lohman, Barb (Darrell) Ott, Wendy (Jim) Greenawald, Mary (Keith) Davis, Scott (Dee) Monigal; 19 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, including a special great-niece, Elena; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad, William Monigal; and two brothers, Jim Monigal and Randy Monigal.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 28. There will be a Parish Wake Service held at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Sharon was the most generous person we knew. Even in death she has donated tissue samples to help others live a better life.

Sharon - you are our sister and best friend. You left a big void in our hearts, but we know you are with Dad, Randy and Jim watching over us. Rest in peace in God's hands. We love you!

Thank you to all of you who left your messages about my sister, Sharon, who has now been gone almost 7 years. As I come up on the age she was when she passed, I realize how young she was to leave this life! I miss her as well. My brother, Randy and I became close and then he passed away. Then her and I got closer, then she passed away. Makes you afraid to get close to anyone in your life - - - but without that closeness, you aren't really living. Sharon was so full of advice as my big sister and always knew what to say. She always made time for everyone else no matter what. I miss her and strive to be as kind as she was!! I am SURE she is up in heaven now and I will see her again when I get there :)

Sharon was probably one of the most wonderful people I have had the pleasure to know...I lost track of her many years ago and only recently found this obituary in my search...I am only sorry I was unable to see her before she passed...I was an honor to know her and her family...My deepest sympathy to all.

I am so saddened hearing about Sharon passing away. She was always very very kind to me and the band members when she came to see us many times and became one of our friends in the true snese of the word. She also knew my father when he worked at Fort Howard until 1978. She will be very much missed.Prayers out to her family and friends, and Sharon, We'll see you on the other side...

My condolences to the Monigal family. I met Sharon at Fort Howard when she worked in the lab. We became friends and often I would go out to watch Packer games with her & Cheryl. I just reconnected with her at GP's Fall Dinner and was looking forward to catching up with her. Sharon was always sweet & sincere. The Monigal family has another angel watching over them.

Sincerely, Julie Lipp

I will miss you so much my dear friend Sharon - your smile, laugh, stories, insights. You loved your family and friends so much and you were very giving of yourself. I can not believe you are gone from us, we were all supposed to grow old together. But I know you are in heaven smiling down on us. I love you!

My heart hurts for the entire Monigal family at the loss of Sharon. Even after all the tragic events that have taken place within your family over the years, I have watched in awe as each one of you have picked yourselves back up and continued to be the most faithful, loving, giving people that I have ever met in my life. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sharon, we shared many stories and a lot of joy and laughter. Never a dull moment indeed. You keep on following ROCKER ROCKER ROCKER. Until we meet again keep everyone rocking in heaven.
I will deeply miss you.

Grateful for our friendship

My heart is saddened as I will miss her kindness, laughter, and humor. Over 30 years we have shared packer parties, new year's celebrations, Bible studies, and getting together at each of our homes sharing our life's journey. When I think I will no longer hear your laugh or see your smile a part of my heart keeps those memories alive so my sadness can resolve in knowing you are home with our Savior, I love you and will miss you dearly.

We are so sorry for the loss of a good friend. Sharon and the rest of us in the Fort Howard Technical Department grew up and became close friends. That was a time when there were fewer cares and a lot of good times. She will be missed very much.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of my good friend. I will always remember the fun times we had at the Super Bowls and all our other adventures. You will be greatly missed by many, Sharon

Sharon introduced us to each other many years ago and remained close even while we lived out of state. We will miss her thoughtful sense of what is right, her self-deprecating wit, her ready laughter, her generosity, and the many cards and notes she would send for all occasions. Our children looked forward to Sharon's visits with excitement and greatly enjoyed her playful spirit. We are blessed to have known her.
