Timothy Mangless Obituary

Timothy Anthony Mangless

Green Bay - (June 23, 1946- January 10, 2018)

Timothy Anthony Mangless was born to Elmer and Loraine Mangless in Green Bay, WI. As a lifelong resident of Green Bay, he spent much of his time actively involved in the community he loved; graduating from West High School and later a member of the first graduating class of UWGB. Those who knew Tim, knew him to be a Renaissance man whose uncompromising character created a life of kindness, love, laughter, and service. His inclusive nature created a sense of community wherever he was.

Tim served our nation honorably in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He taught high school and eventually went on to create a successful business selling insurance.

Tim met the love of this life Sue and together built his greatest accomplishment, his family. Sue and Tim shared 48 years of marriage while raising 4 children Luke, Jessica, Jon and Chris. In addition to building a family together, Tim and Sue were active in the Marriage Encounter Community and the Ecumenical Center. Tim also served as the president of Big Brothers Big Sister for many years.

Tim left everything better than how he found it—never shying away from hard work. His labor of love was his cottage in Crivitz, WI building the entire structure with his own hands, along with his wife and children. Tim was an avid golfer, novice winemaker, however his favorite role was that of professional grandfather. Times spent with his grandchildren were among his favorite days.

Tim is now with his father and mother that have preceded him in death as well as his eldest brother Tom. He is survived by his wife, Sue, sons Luke (wife Emily), Jonathan, Christopher and daughter Jessica (husband LaVelle Dolan), 4 Grandsons Benaiah, Logan, Judah and Azariah and 1 granddaughter, Emma, siblings Sue Erdmann (husband Wayne), Steve Mangless (wife Wendy), Manual Inclan (wife Maria) and Rose Johnson (husband Don). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service in celebration of Tim's life will be held at Green Bay Community Church at 600 Cardinal Ln, Green Bay, WI 54313 on Sunday, January 21 at 3 p.m. with his daughter, Pastor Jessica Dolan officiating. Visitors will be received by the family from 1pm until the service. Please park in the chapel lot.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters or Freedom House or St. John's Homeless Shelter in honor of Tim.

Ps 103 Bless the LORD oh my soul; and all that is within me, bless His HOLY NAME. Bless the LORD oh my soul, and forget not all His Benefits; Who forgives all my iniquities; Who heals all my diseases. Who redeemed my life from destruction; Who crowns me with loving kindness and tender mercies.

Mr Mangless was one of my favorite teachers at Pulaski High School. He made a difference in our lives. So sorry for your loss.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of Tim. I worked closely with Tim and my son Tom Burgess at our company FulfillNet as our insurance agent. Tim was also our personal insurance agent for some time. A favorite memory was when we have a business lunch and he would pick me up in his convertible. He will be missed by many. Prayers and thoughts with the family during this difficult time. Pam and Mark Westphal

Sue and family you are in my prayers. When my family and I moved to Green Bay in the early 90s, Tim and his family were very welcoming. Tim especially made my transition to a new and challenging job less daunting with his sense of humor. He also had a strong desire to help me succeed. He instilled confidence. I will never forget his zeal to serve his Lord.

Well done good and faithful servant

My first year at Pulaski High, Tim was my teacher. First class of the morning. Always had to have hot cocoa. Some teachers you never forget and he was one of those.

Dear Sue,
Please accept my sincere sympath at the loss of Tim. I have fond memories of the Mangless family from the Twin Bridges camping days. Tim was in the service for a number of those years but I remember the rest of his family pretty well. While he would probably not remember me, I remember spendin time with Manual. I did get to know Tim when we were both readers at St. Agnes. When making the opening announcements Tim would ask the congregation to turn to one another in greeting which really acted as a nice warm up for Mass but normally frustrated the pastor. I remember Jessica too. She came to my home for CCD classes. She presented a particular challenge as she was so insightful while many of her classmates were not.
I hope that in this coming days you can take solace from the fact that so many people care.
Best wishes,
Ken Blaney

Sue, so sorry to hear of Tim's passing. I always enjoyed the many talks and laughs we had around Grandma's kitchen table. I'm sure Aunt Verna was there to welcome him through the Pearly Gates. She always held a special place in her heart for him.

Sue and family, my heartfelt condolences to you. Tim was one of the special people in my life. Our relationship with Big Brothers/Big Sisters spanned may years. He was a strong Board President, engaging personality and generous donor, giving of himself and motivating others. I know he cared deeply for all of you as his family and for those, like me, who considered him a life long friend. I'm confident that spirit will live on both here and in heaven.
