Debra Guns Obituary

Deborah Ann Guns of Morrison, WI went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 20, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. She was 45 years old. Debbie was born in Madison, WI on June 12, 1966, to Roland & Doris Klug, also of Morrison. She attended Morrison Zion Lutheran School and graduated from East De Pere High School. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Cliff Guns, on October 3, 1987. Over nearly 25 years of marriage they were blessed with 4 children.

Debbie's greatest joy was to support her kids at their many sports and school activities—acting as a de facto logistics engineer for her busy family. Kayla, the eldest, is graduating from the University of Oshkosh in May. Ray, is currently enjoying a semester studying abroad in Lima, Peru, where Debbie was planning to visit at the term's end. Bobby is involved in wrestling, football and rugby at De Pere High School. Kimmy plays volleyball, runs track, manages the Reedsville wrestling team and sings in the choir. Debbie was also instrumental in starting a wrestling program at Wayside Zion Lutheran School.

Debbie worked as the Co-Owner/Office Manager of 1st Choice Metal Finishing Company, which she and her husband Cliff started two years ago. She also previously enjoyed a career as a Realtor with ERA Titletown Realtors and Sloan & Assoc. Real Estate. She fondly remembered many friends and co-workers from her time at Pioneer Credit Union and ShopKo Corporate Offices. Debbie truly loved life, her family, and her Lord. She always had something nice to say and saw the good in everyone she met.

Debbie enjoyed morning walks with Mia, the family dog, and watching hummingbirds nest on her patio. Morning was her time, and she enjoyed it with a cup of coffee and her favorite vanilla creamer.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Cliff: her four children, Kayla, Ray, Bobby and Kimmy; her parents, Roland & Doris Klug; her siblings: Philip & Denise Klug, Kathy Suttles, David & Sherri Klug, and Liz & Todd Ratliff. She was loved by the Guns family, which includes her mother-in-law, Arleen Guns; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Margaret & Wayne Dombrowicki, Lucy & Pat Sigmund, Wally & Kitty Guns, Janet Titulaer, Bernice & Tom Gilson, Shirley & Bob Brittnacher, Chuck & Jean Guns, Bev & Lyle Thiem, Bill & Pam Guns, Julie & Mark Baugnet, Joe & Kathy Guns, Eileen & Al VanderKinter, Tom & Mary Guns, Amy & John Beyer, Carie & Jeff Jens.

Debbie was adored by her many nieces and nephews and will be missed by her family, her friends and her neighbors in the town of Morrison. Debbie was preceded in death by her Father-in-Law, Raphael Guns and Brother-in-Law, Dave Guns. Friends and family may call at Wayside Zion Lutheran Church (8378 County Road W) Wayside, WI on Monday, April 23 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday April 24 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will be held at Wayside Zion Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Kline officiating.
