Schuessler, Clemeth G.

Clemeth G. Schuessler, 98, Oconto Falls, died Thursday evening, December 19, 2013 at home. She was born November 18, 1915 in Oconto Falls to Antone and Nellie (Tempele) Umentum. Clemeth grew up in Oconto Falls where she attended public schools, graduating from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1934. Following graduation, she worked for WPA earning $40 a month to help support her parents and siblings.

On November 25, 1937 she married Anthony Schuessler at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. The couple lived in Milwaukee for most of their married lives where Clemeth was employed by Delphi Electronics Corp. (now DELCO) for 25 years. While living in Milwaukee, she was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and very active in sewing. In 2002, Clemeth moved back to Oconto Falls where she was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and volunteered for the CMH Auxiliary. She was also working on an autobiography about life in the early 1900's.

Survivors are her one daughter, Joyce Sukowski, Pound; four grandchildren, Kevin, Keith and Beth Sukowski; Sue (Robert) Sukowski-Burmesch; seven great grandchildren, two great-great granchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marie Hensck, Waukesha; Ruby Parve, NC; Janet Walthers, FL; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1990, son-in-law Robert Sukowski, one brother Emanuel "Chick" Umentum, three sisters, Claudine Peterson, Clistie DeBusch and Zerlena Valentine and four infant siblings.

Visitation will be held after 9:30am Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday the church with the Rev. Fr. Bob Karuhn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
