David Gussert, 53, Little Suamico, died unexpectedly Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born on January 1, 1963, in Green Bay to Gerald and Dale (Whitney) Gussert.

David attended Bay Port High School. After high school he served his country in the U.S. Army with his buddy, Mark Balza. When David returned from the service, he trained as a mechanic and became a talented engine builder. Since 1989, David was a professional truck driver. He was an owner/operator for John Veriha Trucking for 14 years and most recently was with Schneider National. On February 14, 1992, David married Michelle "Mickie" Alsteen in Green Bay. He enjoyed building model cars, shooting sports, working with cars, and watching the Packers and NASCAR.

David is survived by his wife, Michelle "Mickie"; his father, Gerald Gussert; a brother, Douglas Gussert; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin (Sarah) Alsteen and Annette Balza; a special cousin, Paul Camber; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dale Gussert; uncle, Tony Gussert; brother-in-law, Mark Balza II; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 to 12 noon Saturday. Sharing of Memories will take place at 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of David. I have so many great memories of him from our time together as kids. I wish I would have heard about this sooner so I could have been there today. I had not seen Dave in so many years but he will be sadly missed.
